How long will it take to get my motorcycle back?
It varies greatly and is very much dependent upon parts and what your motorcycle needs, it can be a same day turnaround for things like new tires or fork seals when parts are on hand, or it could be a few weeks for more major work. Some of the parts needs from the manufacturers have still taken weeks or even months to arrive on some motorcycles. Sadly even some of the popular tires if I do not have them on hand- sometimes they have arrived in 2 days, sometimes they have taken 2 weeks. I currently have no less than 4 motorcycles here that have been waiting for a single oe part or multiple oe parts for more than 2 years!!!!!!!!!! I do not control parts production…. sadly.
Why don’t you routinely answer the phone?
I am the lone employee and I am far too busy with wrenches in hand to answer the dozens of calls, texts and emails coming in daily. If I stopped working every time the phone rang or a message came in I would never get any motorcycles done.
Can I wait while work is completed?
There are a couple of picnic tables outside. So weather-dependent and job-dependent – maybe. But ….. there is very little work that can be done in under an hour so I highly suggest dropping your bike off and coming back to pick it up after I contact you and let you know of your motorcycle’s completion. Nobody will be waiting inside the shop! WIFI does connect out to the picnic table…
Can I apply to be a part of the team or work as a contractor?
I am not hiring at this time. but…….. I may be enticed into having a top notch good mechanic with his own tools work as a self employed subcontractor on a percentage of labor basis. more % if you bring in the customer, less % if it one of mine. I currently turn away far too many people who contact me, and many are delayed too far out due to my hectic busy schedule. Someone trustworthy who could put out even 75 jobs a year during the 5ish months of riding season would be welcome… non smokers only, I refuse to smell an ashtray near me! I keep the doors closed as much as possible and the AC going in the shop all summer long.
